GOD CAN Charity provides free, trauma-informed community programs designed to meet individuals and families where they are. Our approach recognizes that participants may be navigating poverty, , trauma, social isolation, or other barriers, and focuses on creating culturally responsive spaces where people feel supported, heard, and empowered.
Individuals can access programs through self-referral or referrals from families, schools, community organizations, and service providers.
We support newcomers and refugees as they adjust to life in Canada and connect with their new communities. Services may include community orientation, referrals, language support, assistance navigating local services, employment and education resources, and connections to settlement and social supports.
Our youth and family programs create safe and welcoming spaces where participants can build confidence, develop skills, strengthen relationships, and connect with positive role models. Programming may include mentorship, workshops, recreational activities, educational support, leadership development, and family-focused community events.
We respond to immediate community needs by helping individuals and families access food, clothing, household essentials, and other practical resources. Through outreach initiatives, community distributions, partnerships, and referrals, we work to reduce some of the everyday pressures experienced by households facing financial hardship.
We provide workshops and activities that help participants strengthen practical skills for everyday life and future opportunities. This may include employment readiness, financial literacy, communication, goal setting, digital skills, confidence building, and other supports that encourage greater independence and stability.
We provide one-on-one support to individuals and families who may be struggling to navigate housing, employment, settlement, education, health, financial, or other community systems. Our team works with participants to identify their needs, develop practical next steps, connect them to appropriate services, and provide ongoing guidance when additional support is needed.
GOD CAN Charity advocates alongside individuals who may feel unheard, overlooked, or unsure of how to navigate complex systems. We help people understand their options, communicate with service providers, access referrals, and address barriers that may be preventing them from receiving the support they need.
